MOVEMENT IS A SKILL

 

In this practical workshop we will discuss how to train and assess movement. We will discuss running short and long distances, jumping & landing, deceleration & change of direction and well as rotational strength and power.

We will explore how to build strength on the field or court, along with a progression to teach athletes with low training ages and high training ages.

Day 1:

10:30-12:30: Movement is a skill Practical 1

12:30-13:30: Lunch

13:45-14:30: Programming for Low training Ages Presentation

14:30-16:30: Movement is a skill Practical 2

16:30-17:15: Programming for High Training ages Presentation

17:15- 17:30: Q &A

Day 2:

09:00-09:30: Review Day1

09:30-11:00: Running Mechanics for Top speed (Long sprints) Practical

11:00-12:00: Strength training for Running Mechanics

12:00-12:30: Snack Break

12:30-14:30: Putting it all together Presentation/Programming
